Madeleine Barlow is a set and costume designer for stage and screen, currently based in South East Queensland.

After obtaining her Masters of Design for Performance in 2019 from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA- Sydney), Madeleine relocated to New York City to work and intern on and off-Broadway. Her favourite role from this period was as the Associate Set Designer on the musical, Fly More Than You Fall (NOORDA Center).

Since returning to Australia, Madeleine has had the privilege to design for both film and theatre projects. Her notable film credits include Costume Designer for the Stan Original feature film Christmas on The Farm (Hoodlum Productions), The Curious Case of Dolphin Bay (Steve Jaggi Productions), the Coffee is Our Middle Name TVC (Chop Shop Post Pty Ltd/VMLY&R) and Production and Costume designer on the short film They Kill By Night (That’s A Cool Jacket).  She was also a Co-producer and Costume Designer for the short film Unspoken (Flame Tree Entertainment) that premiered at Flickerfest 2024 and won the international prize at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film festival.

Additional screen roles include Art Director on Darby and Joan S2 (CJZ/ABC), Production Design Assistant on In Our Blood (Hoodlum Entertainment/ABC Originals) and Art Department Coordinator on both In Limbo (BUNYA Productions/ABC Originals) and Bear Country (Nickel City Pictures).

Madeleine’s recent stage credits include as Production Designer on Li’l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers – The Musical (Writers republic & Mad About Theatre), Production Designer on Space Cowboy (QUT Creative Industries) Set Designer for Billy Elliot (Matt Ward Entertainment),Costume Designer for Pat Malone’s Magic Garden (Shock Therapy) and Production Designer for The Norman Mailer Anecdote (Door 3 QTC). She has also been the Associate Set and Costume Designer for Malacañang Made Us (QTC), the touring production of Drizzle Boy (QTC) and The Mystery of the Valkyrie (Woodward Productions),
